Our Home

We pride ourselves on giving our cats a rich and loving, home environment. Our cats are part of our family. We have made a commitment to them to provide them with the very best of everything. A high quality diet, excellent healthcare, a stimulating and safe place to live and most importantly, affection and love. Below are some examples.

Food and medical care

It is important to use that our cats are as healthy as possible. We feed a raw diet as this suits Bengals and provides all the nutirents they need. All our cats and kittens are regularly vet checked, wormed and up to date with vaccinations. Our cattery is flea free. All breeding adults are screened for:

PK-Def, which causes anemia
Bengal PRA, which causes blindness
HCM, which causes heart failure

This ensures that kittens born here can go to their new home with a health guarentee.

The Catio

Attached to our home is a 24ft long catio. We have equiped this with dens, shelves, a rope bridge, toys, beds and an insulated, heated home. Half the catio has a roof so that it can be enjoyed whatever the weather. At night, the solar powered fairy lights come on. The cats love these because they attract interesting bugs to chase.

Cazami running wheel

One of the favourite enrichments for the cats is the Cazami wheel. Our cats do not free roam for safety and health reasons and the wheel provides them with an oportunity to run at top speed, keeping them fit and healthy.

Garden houses

Outside we have two insulated houses. These have comfy beds and are heated when the temperature drops. This means that the cats always have a cozy spot to curl up in whether they are inside the house or playing in the catio or garden.

The garden

Our cats have free access to our enitre garden. This is made possible by the cat secure system that we have installed. We love the fact that in summer we can eat in the garden with the cats playing around us and in winter we can watch the cats exploring the snow.

Wild area

We have a dedicated area of the garden that we have left wild for the cats to explore. This area attracts lots of bugs and butterflies that the cats and kittens love to chase. It is so important that they get to engage in natural 'hunting' behaviour in a safe way for both them and the local wildlife. The cats and kittens also enjoy making dens and playing hide and seek in the long grass.

In the home

Kittens are born and live for their first 4 weeks in a dedicated nursery room. As they get stronger and want to explore, they have access to a larger room with cat tree and toys. From a very young age kittens are handled and played with several times a day by ourselves and our three children. This means that kittens are extremely well socialised and can easily fit in to their new family when it comes time for them to find their forever homes. All kittens and queens from 12 weeks have access to our entire home and garden.
